Hidden Layer Records is an independent label for AI artists. The name says what it's about: the layers you don't see at first, but that you can hear. The emblem is a stack of layers around a record, like digging through crates to find what's real.
The label is run by producer Slate7, the alias of Adrian Ives. Every artist on the label starts with him: a concept, a character and a story, and a sound world of its own. From Elin Marrow's melodic electronic pop and Sadie Wynford's modern pop to The MØVEMENT's progressive house and the Texas Americana of Cody Hawthorne & The Wildflowers.
Our artists are AI personas, and we say so openly.
Music and visuals are made with AI tools, but never at the push of a button. Every song, image and video is developed, directed, selected and edited through many rounds of creative work, until it feels right.
